Practical guidance on setting up your account, keeping it secure, and moving money with Obseq.
Getting started
Creating an account takes a few minutes. You’ll be asked for some basic details, then to verify your identity before you can transact.
- Sign up with your email address and confirm it
- Add and verify your mobile number
- Complete identity verification with a valid government-issued ID
- Review and accept the applicable terms for your account type
Verifying your identity
Verification is a regulatory requirement and helps protect everyone using the platform. Most checks complete automatically; some are reviewed manually and can take longer.
- Use a current, unexpired document and make sure all four corners are visible
- Capture images in good light, without glare or blur
- Make sure your name and date of birth match the document exactly
- If a submission is rejected, the reason is shown so you can retry
Business onboarding
Businesses complete an additional verification process covering company registration, ownership, and control. You’ll be asked for incorporation documents and details of beneficial owners holding a qualifying stake. Requirements vary by jurisdiction and entity type, and our team will tell you if anything further is needed.
Sending and receiving payments
- Check the recipient details carefully — payments can be difficult to reverse once sent
- Review the amount, currency, and any applicable fees before confirming
- Track status in your activity history; each payment has a unique reference
- Settlement timing depends on the corridor, currency, and receiving institution
Keeping your account secure
- Use a strong, unique password and enable every available security control
- Never share one-time codes — Obseq will never ask you for one
- Be cautious of unexpected messages asking you to move money or log in via a link
- Contact support immediately if you notice activity you don’t recognise
Notifications
You can choose how we contact you about account and security events under Settings → Notifications. SMS alerts are optional and can be turned off at any time, or by replying STOP to any message. See our Terms of Service for full details of our messaging programme.
